A visit in Epirus is like a walk in history. It’s not only for the monuments, which are found in many places, the ritual spaces , the castles , the temples and the churches. It is noteworthy that in this region two of the most important oracles of Classical Greece took place : the oracle of Dodoni and the oracle named Nekromanteio which was located in the shores of the Acheronta river. This can certify the presence of this region during the centuries. Leaving aside all the above, the fact that in this region the ancient tribe of Sells or Ells, from whom we obtained our current name, lived and created their culture is enough to certify the presence of the region.

The Vast country with the bas-relief landscape , which is heated from the limestone and the marble of its own land and is cooled from the ripple of the oaks, you can call it precinct, Epirus, the people of which had baptized our nation, Greece.

Even the fact that Epirus is the place where two “imperialist” leaders had been born, the only two leaders that our nation had set off, Alexander the Great and Pyrros, when we say the word Greece we mean culture and Democracy, whereas people from Epirus passed in the newer subconscious as persons of studies, arts and trade. Moreover, is not accidental the fact that both the two leaders mentioned above were recorded as medium of culture and catalysts of history.

The current Epirus offers a walk in the history and the nature through the virgin landscapes, the picturesque villages, the five spotless rivers that constitute indelible flows of culture and prosperity, the stone bridges that connect the thorns. Mainly the unenslaved people of Epirus where you meet them carving the stone, kneading the bread, carving the shepherd's crook and spinning in the loom always with a good word in their mouth, welcoming the traveler and pledging the passers.
